Commonwealth Sport GAPS Camps

We took to the track to work alongside Commonwealth Sport to create a series of films that encapsulated the importance of the GAPS programme and its mission to support the development of inclusive sport pathways throughout the Commonwealth. This edition of the programme took the form of training and team-selection camps in Birmingham, to prepare para-athletes for the Birmingham Common Wealth Games.

To ensure that we gave not only the programme itself the spotlight it deserved, but also captured the stories of the para-athletes and why GAPS has benefited their athletics journeys.

The Challenge

No items found.

Through interviews with both the athletes and ambassadors, we were able to capture the special stories of those closest to the programme and illustrate how GAPS breaks down the barriers that many disabled athletes face.

The Solution

No items found.

A series of films utilised on the Commonwealth Sports’ website and social channels that reflect how the GAPS programme provides the opportunity for para-athletes in the commonwealth to take advantage of expertise and facilities, that do not exist in their domestic countries, to aid their sporting careers. Furthermore, the films promote the stories of disabled athletes and the challenges that they face, showcase the benefits the programme provides to secondary stakeholders such as the Sports Department at the University of Birmingham and ultimately highlights the joy of participation for all in sport.
